Good News!  Chaparral Highs School is excited to announce the soon-to-be published Chaparral Connections Email News Bulletin.  We will keep you up-to-date on a wide range of topics such as special events, testing, sports, academics, faculty, and alumni news.  It is a 21st Century way of keeping in touch.  We hope you will take the opportunity to subscribe below.  Please do not use an InterAct email address when subscribing.

What's Happening - October 2008!

Juniors and Seniors!  Would you like to discuss or debate a variety of issues that are important today . . . then join the “Sun Youth Forum.”  The Sun Youth Forum is an organization comprised of juniors and seniors who will meet with students from other high schools in the district on November 25.  See Mr. Moore in room 585 no later than September 19 if you want to travel with us on November 25.

Do you like to draw, sketch, or doodle?  Are you creative and want to unleash your wild imagination on the world?  Art Club is the place to do it.  See Mr. Cooper in room 125 if you have any questions. 

Cowboys!  Are you interested in science and having fun?  Then come to C.S.I. club meetings in room 425.  We will be discussing upcoming events and our future plans for the year.  If you can't make it to the meeting, come support C.S.I. at all home soccer games.  We will be selling hotdogs, hamburgers, soda, Gatorade, chips, and much more.  We hope to see you there!

Are you interested in being a member of the Chaparral High School Step Squad?  See Ms. Bass our campus hall monitor to pick up an interest form.

College and Careers

Seniors 2009!  Would you like to join Smart Grad?  Then sign up in Ms. Darby’s office in the counseling department.  Involvement in Smart Grad will help you to create a job-winning resume.  You’ll explore post-secondary school and career options, and help build up your confidence when interviewing for jobs.
 
Attention Chaparral students who are working and have a related class.  Did you know you can sign up for work experience and earn a half credit per semester?  Find out how to earn that credit in the Career Center, now located in the middle of the Library.  All work experience applications must be turned in to Mrs. Johnson in the Career Center.
